  • Have you seen any of these glitches with FAA when used in some games? I dont know what they are, but there was some talk about FAA not being a good idea in all games.

Is it just funny colours, or not AA some parts, or crashing, or what?

Thanks for taking the time to answer all these questions.

Raw performance, if benchmarks with default settings is a concern. But if you play them back to back, it's quite obvious who has the smoothest gameplay, there is no doubt at all....but I doubt any 'reviews' actually play the games to see for themselves.

Ahh...Thanks Rags. That was the statement I was waiting to hear.
Now I can rest peacefully while I wait on next Tuesday

        • I turned FAA on the day I got the card, and have only turned it off to compare speed and image. I have not seen a single problem in any game I play with it forced to "always on".

The drivers continue to improve, and FAA is one of the features that continues to get refinement.

For the record, I leave 16XFAA ON all the time....and I think others who use the Parhelia do the same. It just works so well, and looks so good.

              • Also, on FAA again, could you try out this:

and post a screen shot of the output with:
                No AA
                16xFAA
                4xFSAA

I would be VERY interested in this.

To compare to Kyro2, GeForce4, and 3dLabs Wildcat3 look here:

                Thanks again

That zip is nothing but a zip file with screenshots of 3D windows with various types of AA turned on.....

Well, I'm not concerned about raw performance anyway. I'm sure the Parhelia has enough of it. I'm mainly concerned about its features and how well they work, but from what you are saying I'm not too worried about it anymore.

                    • The reason any gamer should buy Parhelia in NOT raw preformance with everything off. That would be missing the point. Parhelia's preformance is for those who want great looking graphics. Smoothness is a factor in looking great, and it seems as if P has that covered. I'm just drooling...
