Seriously, I'm pretty annoyed that Matrox doesn't show any interest in clearing up these issues and reading all news from VigilAnt makes me think we users won't even have a chance to RMA our cards, because there seems to be no fixed revision of the chip available.

Ok, let's get this boat moving!

<em style="padding-left: 10px">We, the undersigned, hereby declare that we feel very strongly about the apparant misdirections of Matrox Graphics. We would strongly encourage that Matrox <b>fully</b> acknowledge this issue, and explain what steps they are taking to resolve this.
The issues listed below are not what we expect from Matrox Graphics, its products and its support. In fact, we expect rather the opposite.

The issues all concern the Matrox Parhelia series. While offering plenty for the enthusiast community, for a professional 'quality' product it is severly lacking, in those "professional" and "quality" attributes, as well as lacking the full working set of features as promised.

I wouldn't say the FAA is "faulty"... at least not at the same level than the banding stuff and the aniso.
It's just a new way of anti-aliasing that doesn't anti-alias textures, that's all. I don't think any deception was involved.

        Thumbs up, Pace !!!

        ...

        ElDonAntonio,

did you ever look at FAA'ed edges when the 3D scene has fog ?

If not, I strongly recommend to do so, because it is rendering artifacts that look to me as if the AA'ed edges would be put on top of the whole 3D rendering, without applying any fog to them.

Therefore FAA is visually flawed or at least limited to non foggy scenes and we all know how much more atmosphere and tension can be added to a 3D scene when using fog.

Although I have no idea if this a bug in the HW or a flaw in the concept of FAA, I'd definately want to see it fixed on my 540,- € retail Parhelia 128, as well as those other issues.

Ok, can someone post a rant on the aniso issue, or just tell me what's up with it

Aniso was initially advertised as being up to 8x.

At the moment we can only do none or 2x. There are no options for more.

Ok, I've not uploaded the petition page yet, as I'll have to contact my petition script helper, but how does this sound for a little intro page: http://www.distributedatmurc.co.uk/parhelia/

Ok, do make suggestions and point out my errors though. Remember, I'm not a Parhelia owner, I just want to lend a hand to getting it sorted out

If ya think that's bad try calling their sales 800# and listen to them boasting of the G550 and it's wonderful Buttcasting ability

Heck they don't even mention Parhelia from their selection of options (Gee guys who runs that dept again?)

Ok, just a little bump to see if a certain geek does check their private messages.

If the geek does, then the geek shouldn't feel rushed to do what I ask.

If the geek does not, then the geek should send that script along when the geek has time

PS: Apologies for private communication here, but it was a last resort

PPS: Maybe the bump could help the cause too

Folks while I appreciate concerns about possible problems at Matrox and with their products I would appreciate it if peoples names were not used as a focal point for these issues. Of course feel free to rant and rave about policies and problems but it is not fair to single out indivduals, just remember you are talking about someones livelihood.

Yeah, I for one have taken that out (especially as I don't know how the problems are linked to the individual who keeps getting link to it ).

Hopefully the other issues will be acknowledged.
