First not giving Ant a review board... now this...

VigilAnt - if you posted what threads were deleted would Matrox make you take the post down?

and to think people thought that i was insane for not wanting to buy a Matrox product again...

this is utter f*cking bullsh*t. gotta love that thing called freedom of speech.

I'm wondering on what legal basis can Matrox tell Ant to pull the thread? Or did he pull it by himself to avoid trouble? But what trouble was there to come?
          no matrox, no matroxusers.

Okay - a special prize of a brand new Pitou for the first person to get a decent response from Matrox PR on the future of the MGI division

Do a google search for "matrox pitou" and you can still get the deleted front page article from google's cached copy.

The ghost still lurks in the machine..

                  Boy do I feel guilty
I think that my thread over at Matrox might be responsible for this. I only asked!!!!!!

                    Thanks for the tip.

I've saved myself a copy of that for posterity.

                      MJA, don't feel guilty,

Even if your thread over on the Matrox forums is what caused Matrox to do this, it isn't your fault. Matrox should not be meddling in its user's forums when no NDA violations have occurred. It is totally immoral behaviour from matrox.

Hey, we could take a good view on Matrox's actions...

Perhaps they requested for VigilAnt to politely "Shut the f*@& up" because people are starting to think that they really are going down the pan. If I were in that position I would have taken the same action to limit the damage being caused.

I believe I noticed a hint of 'Matrox would have blocked rumours of Pitou from the start in the old days' and 'perhaps it got a little out of hand'

It seems to me that it is not just us MURCers that want to see that faster product with the latest innovations coming out of Matrox but also a lot of other people. I can imagine as much speculation as there has been is doing Matrox damage and had to be stopped.

It is my opinion that Matrox may in fact want to keep their latest product under wraps without the speculation and rumours being shown as something more due to the fault of other sites linking certain threads (which have now been deleted).

Perhaps I am being over optomistic, but it seems to me that Matrox hasn't lost their goals in producing the best hardware available... in fact my mate has just swapped out his nVidia 4600 for a Parhelia because of the quality difference (oh, and that triple head surround feature he looked a bit jelous of the last LAN party we had). Just take a look at their video division's products, they can't all be that far off goal.

VigilAnt, thank you for your insight... while short lived (this time round) it has at least backed one MURCer's opinion on what is one of the best companies around and almost certainly the one with the best support.

For all of our sake lets just hope they stay at the top producing the most powerful and innovative graphics hardware available for lord help us if Nvidia or ATI had the wheel.

Oh if only it were true.......

Personally - I think Matrox would be wise to enter into a partnership agreement with another company on future products.

How about a 3DLabs/Matrox collaboration. At least it would finally sort out the OpenGL ICD issue
