why are people so eager to think the worse about Matrox.
I agree that forcing Ant to remove threads are pretty horrible deeds, especially against it's own fan base. But at the same time, think about employers in Matrox, wich might have heard or not heard anything about the "trouble" matrox might be in, just reading these threads, and getting nervous about their own jobs.

Also I would like to say that putting out any false rumours against a company is unmoral, and in some cases also illegal.

But at the same time we are allowed free speech, but if you think that Matrox is behaving badly when they "force" ant to remove those threads I would look a bit closer to Canadian corporate buisness policy berfore saying so. E.g. : MacMillan Bloedel and Fletcher Challenge are 2 exellent examples of companies trying to stop the free speech. They sued hundreds that protested against them, in order to shut them up. Also MacDonalds have done so (for u UK people) All of them have lost their cases in court, but they knew that before taking legal action. And they managed to shut up the protesters.

So my point was, let's wait for a official statement from Matrox.
and it's also funny that most people doesnt even have a parhelia, and still snivel like h*ll

you mean, once Pitou is released they'll take care of my broken P1 ???

          I somewhat doubt that ...

But I guess, your real point was slightly different to what I made of it

Yes, I recall that. Pretty sad really, and it became a kind of joke. They did have a MiniGL driver or something, but not a full ICD.

From what I recall of the now deleted threads, the Gx000 hardware itself had some limitations that made developing an ICD difficult. This also explains why the Gx00 cards always under performed in OpenGL.

Of course, if they desgined the hardware properly with these requirements in mind then I think these issues could have been avoided. Of course, OpenGL could have been an after thought.

As well, I seem to recall that Matrox hired some external people to develop the G200 OpenGL driver. Something like that, dunno for sure.

Because that's not really what was going on in the thread.
It started off in a pretty much positive direction towards P2.
Near the end, it was looking more like THE END. And then the thread and anything related to it, got flushed.

The whole thing put M in a bad light (it's probably worse now), even though it's justified.

Matrox does not do offical statements.

Why would I want a parhellia? It is expensive, buggy, and from a company that does not want to take responsiblity for the bugs it has.
