Not trying to pick a fight, just looking for a wider perspective in the business of technology; with smaller companies struggling against larger companies, similarly, amd is a great company, but in order to compete with intel, had to lay off alot of workers.

Its a bad time for all those workers, especially at the holiday season, but i know they are all talented workers and i wish them well in their future endeavors.

I thought the same when I read it, but there is nothing we can change.
If then don't want to say anything then they don't say anything.

For 26 years, Matrox products have been world renowned for their superior image quality, stability and unique features.
I hope you aren't counting this year in that value. As the Parhelia comes up vastly short. All this banding keeps getting in the way....

Doesn't tell us anything about the rumors we've heard recently, but at least it looks like Matrox is still alive. Hopefully things will get better in the future. Happy holidays everyone.

                  Happy Christmas Matrox!!

I hope I can see an anouncement like this next year, because actually this announcement proves things are very bad...

It's an announcement against the recent rumours yet they don't tell *anything* about what is true or false about them. Instead the marketeers tell about how great Matrox were in the past...

Conclusion: The rumours are true, Matrox is in big trouble.

Since I do hope that Matrox can survive, do something about it now! You are marketing yourself into a very small market, much too small for a graphics card company...

I have to agree with you here, Daniel.

The have not refuted ANY of the rumors flying around. Not ONE! Doesn't this worry anyone?

Haig, I hope you have a Merry Christmas, and I hope you won't get too offended when I say what follows. It sounds to me like the bigwigs at Matrox realized that we're not too happy with the way things are heading. So they figured that maybe they could shut us up by having someone we trust (Haig in this case) attempting to tell us otherwise.

C'mon Matrox, Tell me that you have a NV30 killer on the rise.

I will have to agree, i'm sorry Haig, but the statement is virtually content free.

I see two lines which have _real_ contents in: The 256MB Parhelia, which was very likely to happen. The other one was about the medical imaging Parhelias which does sound like a kick ass series of cards.

                      Other than that, not much:errm:.

                      Robert.

P.S. I still think the Parhelia is a piece of art. any chance of getting a bare PCB?

Hmm. Almost a month have gone by - and no new press release, update or anything.

Silence on the brink of new processors from both Nvidia and Ati might be understandable, but something has to be up, irght?

well actually haig has said they have something in the pipeline but not in a statement and he said it woul be a while off yet but an evolution of parhelia technology targeted at the area its aimed at specifically.
                                so either:-
a new dx9 part(0.09 micron as stated last year?) which i assume will be high speed ad manufactured with care this time, incorporating faa and triple head
                                OR
some sort of business workstation card for high end 3D.

dont hold your horses, i guess late 2003 for a release but faith that something will emerge.

it seems like they are on track as planned last year as parhelia was not due to be succeeded untill late 2003 when 0.09 micron was matured a little.(with a little hiccup surrounding parhelia).
is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?
