Parhelia volt. mod. nearly finished! ( with a pencil )

Today has Itchi from the 3dcenter.de forum tryed a volt. mod. on Parhelia.
He has only to use a pencil and can clock the P (bulk) up to 250 Mhz!

Tommorow i will show you where you must draw with the pencil

The default Vcore of the P is 1,87 V. A other voltage is at 1,27. Don't know why this is needed.

He set both to 2,08 and 1,55.

For all 3DMark fools, he gets around 9700 Point

Hrm.. Vcore default of 1.87v, so I'd assume this really a 1.8v core. Running at 2.08v (basically 2.0v) is gonna heat the sucker up.. This is just like raising the voltage to overclocka cpu, except you don't have the cooling ability unless you've got a big fan or watercooler on the vid card.

Btw, the other voltage of 1.27v is most likely Vref, which is for the DDR voltage swing level. Setting that up will most likely cause memory errors, since DDR has a tight spec where Vref should be 1/2 Vcc on the memory chips and memory controller in the graphics core.

Anything new is good

And they seemed to get thru 3dmark, which does have a tendency to crash when you go OTT.

edit: But then again, he didn't go thru the whole test....

Beacuse in haven't understed it yet by myself i can't translate it. I have to wait for a better cooler for my P. than i can test it on my P and try to write down my experience with this mod.

The cooler will arrive at early january.

Forget heat, pure voltage alone will be enough to start breaking things.

Nope, he is still testing what is the clock limit. Current Itchi is at 260/615 Mhz and get the 10.013 3DMarks
