but I don't want the Verax fan to block the adjacent PCI slot.
That's a point. Fortunatly I'm lucky enough that I don't need this slot, so the P gets more air and doesn't need to share its irq with another card.

It actually looks pretty thin, so I'm not sure if it will block the PCI slot - but you never know when you will need an additional PCI slot, so why bother blocking it!! I think Verax also makes pretty good stuff, so this might be the real deal. Zalman also makes a Parhelia heat sink/fan, but it's huge, and definitly blocks the second slot. The heat sink also covers both sides of the Parhelia, and has a loud fan that blows DOWN onto the Parhelia (Yes, I mean DOWN - you need to see a picture). Hey gangster, keep me updated! Thanks,

I'm sure the verax blocks the pci-slot, because there are fancy clips that hold the fan on the plate and these are pretty long to ensure it's decoupled from the card.

I don't know what you guys find in that expensive cooler when you could just get a Titan CUV2AB or Vantec Iceberq 4 (or 4 Pro, whichever fits) for under 20$, both copper coolers.

I would prefer the Verax since it is specifically made for the Parhelia. gangster: they probably had to order more from Europe, which is why it's taking so long. If it doesn't block the adjacent slot, I will probably get one too. If anything, it will prolong the life of the videocard - which is way too hot!

The verax products claim to be dead silent too.

I have a Verax G03 on my 9800 in my Shuttle and it is dead silent, believe me.

Admiral: i tried to get an Iceberq4 here in Germany (i think a_h is from germany too ?!) but failed miserably. The nearest shops are in the UK, but they don't sell out of country.

Hey Rakido! Can you point me to some cheap verax-resellers? Where did you buy the G02? I can get it here only for about 60E.

Besides: not exactly from germany, but from a bit more south ;-)

I got another email today that states my order "...may be delayed up to 60 days due to availability..."

I am trying to cancel the order now because they have already charged my credit card.

I have ordered the Zalman, including fan, because I don't need the pci slot next to the Parhelia.

                        Stay tuned for further developments........

It's terrible that they charged your credit card BEFORE they shipped!

btw, I don't think the Zalman is highly regarded. Do a search.

Nope. I am done with the Parhelia after this, cooling wise. I replaced the factory thermal tape with as3 and it made a difference.

I have a 30 day refund option on the Zalman so I will try it. Verax SUX as far as I am concerned.

Why don't YOU try the Verax link you suggested and spend the bucks, I will not!

okay, well I just suggested the link because I thought you wanted to buy one, and they claim to have them in stock. But if you don't want one, then fine.
