  • Hello Maggi,
I have a strange MAC tip for you, I have an original IMAC (233Mhz) running seti at home, it has always taking ca 20 hours to do a Wu for it, I start Seti and then shrink it, but the other day I did it another way, I went in to preference and turned on the screensaver (5 min) and goto blank (10 min) started seti and shrunk it. Now it only takes 15 hours, first I thought that it was a temporary thing, that sometimes it takes les time to do a Wu, but it has now been doing 10-15 units and all of them has taken around 15 hours. Try it and se if it is the same on your G4.

                • Something like that Greebe...

I'm waiting for the 2nd Gen Athlon boards before I switch back to AMD. I've heard nothing but great comments on the AMD front (there are problems of course, but minor from what I understand). Til then, I'm stuck with my measly 600Mhz rig - that used to wow people...

                      • I don't know about a joke, but this reminds me of a book called "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" by Phillip K. Dick. This book was the basis for the movie "Blade Runner". Anyway, in the story (not the moview), there is a guy named Murcer who is constantly climbing a mountain and people are always throwing rocks at him. An endless treck which anyone can empathize with through an electronic box in their homes. Ring a bell?
