Here's a virtual wave to nitRAM as I pass him/her. (I suggest we implement names which allow us to distiguish gender)

Also, Breezer - I notice that you and I are the only ones from MURC who accelerate over the weekend. Do you save the partially finished WUs?

Yep, anything over 70% gets saved on the network and is completed on friday nite.

Stops users from deleting a nearly finished unit.

Ahh, now I see how your Friday results are so good. When I start up computers on Friday, the results don't start coming in until Saturday morning. Aren't you worried you will lose some since they only give you a week to return the result?

The units stop calculated at about 8am on monday and start up again at about 6pm on Friday.
This will keep me within any seti return deadlines.

Sounds like you don't worry about communication problems. I have a poor record with communicating with SETI. Also, I've been getting error messages lately which state something like 'state.txt file is unavailable' or something like that. This stops it calculating at some arbitrary point. This is not a send or receive thing.

                        • Yeah, we're missing someone all right. And that's not even the worst part: if I'm not mistaken, he appears to have taken all of his credits with him.

According to the SETI website, this should not have happened:

If you are currently a member of a group and are switching to another group, the new group will receive all of your new credit, but the old group will keep all of your old credit.
And to add to this, no SETI club team statistics were published on November 19, which means that I'm missing a day for my club teams stats page.

PS: speaking of 'turbo': seems that Breezer and Brian have access to some serious weekend-power:

                          • ees,

The serious power you are talking about are my p75's & p200 machines which keep my average work unit at 15hrs.

The p3s only come out at weekends.

                            • Anybody out there tried the novell netware version?

One of my old servers utilization got stuck at 100% and refused to do anything until I unloaded the nlm.

Does a dual processor rig work any better??

                              • I have 45-50 teaching computers (PIIs) I have access to when classes aren't in session. I am only limited by my patience as to how many I set-up and run and maintain over the weekend. So far, I only set-up 15-18 of the fastest for seti. Takes too much time away from other things.
