      • SpiralDragon,

Sometimes war can be good for both sides. Like when one side is continually opressed by a tyranny and is set free by the other (winning) side.
        It has happend before.

        • For the first time in the history of mankind, there are more old people than young people in Europe. This means that a smaller part of the population will have to work and fund a larger part of the population (retired people).
That's why we need to do away with a system that depends on the efforts of the next generation to support the previous generation. Instead of forcing a working person into contributing into a system that earns very little in returns and is going bankrupt allow him to contribute into something that provides greater returns and will be around for awhile that is his and not someone else's.

As I see it now I will never see the thousands of dollars that have been forced from me over the years.

          • ...yano, they say there's nothing new under the sun.

I'd say we are doing the same thing man has been doing for many thousands of years. The only difference is that the pace is accelerating, killing people and saving people ...and making people.

Seems we are saving and making more than we are killing or are dying, and consequentially, we are choking ourselves and our planet with people and their trash.

It's irresponsibility and insanity, any way you look at it. We are irresponsible in balancing our numbers, and totally, totally insane in our morality, values and illusions about life and death. Tell any of it to a horse and he'll snort and walk away.

We a r e i n s a n e. Not just them over there, not only Dogbert, we are A L L absolutely, toroughly, fundamentally INSANE. That includes everybody on the whole planet, with possibly 500 exceptions.

So you can go on and on with all this stuff, get all wound up in your emotions, righteousness and thoughts, but it is only when you begin to recognize your own insanity that there is any hope for yourself or anybody else, at all.

            Eh?
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
            Who cares?

              • Dogbert; i dont disagree that tyrants should be topled..... but what next.... look at lebanon for instance... how many civil wars have we had in the last century .... atleast 3.... what has changed ... NOTHING.... you know why becuse people are still acusing each other over somthing that happened well over 300 years ago.........

if the world wants peace then the world should learn the word COMPROMISE..... its not a bad thing so long as one doesnt end up compromising evrything...... the solution.... equal and mutual compromise........

i am not going to get into the tyrant debate because it is usless.... simply they should not exist but nither should forcing a nother idiology on to someone else be tolorated either....

and mutz we ARE all insane .... no exceptions.....

You had to go THAT far away ? C'mon man, I had it 15 minutes from my house (walking). Not to mention the fact I've spent 3 years of my life in the army.

                    • Sorry SD if you saw my statement as being too general. Jeeze.

I don't think I said that all Muslims are that way. I am talking about the fundalmentalist and they are the ones we are at war with. But then again I'm not the one spreading the idea that this is a war againist Islam and what it stands for.

                      • I'm totally with SD on this one... It's easily recognizable when someone really experienced war first hand...
I've seen it, didn't like it one bit and would personally kick ass of anyone that thinks something positive can come from any war.
All the ideas that started the war still live in the minds of the people after the war. The only thing that happens is mindless destruction, economic pressure on the nations involved and a lot of innocent victims on both sides while truly responsible ones get away as heroes or run off to some banana republic to spend money they stole from their own people...

                        War sucks. PERIOD.

                        • I know a few civil wars as a neutral examples that brought a lot of good.
The French revolution, the ware between the north and the south in the U.S...

Don't be too quick to diss war. War is a very big word with just three letters and it's being very carelessly used.

That is true. But we're talknig 300 years ago... One would think that with globalization and all the development during that time alternative and more human ways could be used to solve problems and not war.
And let's not start the human nature issue again because people still DO evolve. Although the evolution nowadays is technology dictated instead of biology...

                            • Actually, we didn't really evolve.
We still lock people up in prisons only with better conditions but still taking away their freedom. In some countries prisons today are worse than they were 300 years ago.
Technology evolved, not us. There are evil people around, there are tyrants. Nothing really changed. Is there such a big difference between an evil count that "lends" the land to the farmers while taking a huge prcentage of their money, Edison "renting" film to movie producers and Mircrosofts licensing their products ?
The only difference is that today's methods are more subtle.
People still use their power to kill, rape and maim, whether physically or psychologicly. The more people there are in the world, the more people die from starvation in the world.

Nothing really changed except for technology and the mothods ofr doing the EXACT SAME THINGS. Same lady, different coat.

Says who? Sounds like pan-arabianism to me. Just as much bullshit as any other "ism." Your people do NOT have the right to invade my homeland and act like you fricken own the place. That is not immigration. It is invasion. All the more effective when you bring your subserviant wife(s) in and have a bunch of children under our noses and then get all uppity about your rights and needs and demand to be supported by the society you are destroying. That's much more twisted and damaging than what the British did in India or any other guilt trip you want to lay on Westerners.

As for European governments, they are the biggest enemy of their own people and society right now. They are actually encouraging this with their inane policies and dictums. It disgusts me.
