    # Enter ? for additional hints on searching ARIN's Whois database.

I hope it can be usefull of some way.

Personally, I use Zone Alarm (there's a free version here) and for me it's a very nice firewall.

Buddman, I don't normally say this sort of thing, but in your case I'm going to make an exception :

If you get his IP and send the log to his ISP they can ban him from their network for hacking. You could also press charges against him and have him jailed.

A warrant, pics and an IM confession and he goes to jail. End of story.

If you look at the logs of Nortons it will give the ip address and it does if you click on more info. It's very likely you'll get a set of different ip address's each time. These will show up just about everytime you log on with one or two other ones occainsionally. Well it does on my machine anyway.
If you want you can then try and trace them.
Looking at my log these turned up a quite a bit with trojans
                213.122.48.139 as did
62.136.250.196 and the star of the night
                213.122.147.193 which was rather persistant.

well if he was stupid enough to connect directly to the trojan then he is an idiot!!!
Most of these guys go through proxies etc to avoid detection.

There seems to be a vunarability in xp or an IM that a lot of hackers use. A friend of mine was hacked several times and he claims that it was hacked even after a clean install. He is an IM freak so I don't think it was that clean .

My advice is just ignore him. Stop talking to him and he will go away.

Whatever dude. I hate to break this to you, but nothing will really come of this. I'm just speaking from an honest standpoint here. It sucks that it happened. Next time just install a firewall and be more cautious. It's happened to me too before and I learned from it and went on. That's pretty much all you can do.

                        Liz,

                        1. go to the police with all the info from your computer and the info you got here

                        2. http://www.facethejury.com/images/photos/pu/puppetz.jpg

                        is the same as:

So you have a picture of the guy now.

                        3 proofs of previous felonies:

                        4. About a good (unfriendly yet unknown) software firewall (which I use): www.tinysoftware.com
I don't use an antivirus yet I have never been hacked since using this firewall. Many tries are being registered every month (things more serious than stupid pings).

                        5. Once more, GO TO THE POLICE. You have his picture and info. Press charges and let him sit in jail.

                          p.s.

I use the 2.015 version which was free. If you want it we can find a way for me to send it to you.
It's good even for a hacked/cracked computer. Once you install it you'll understand how and why
