I still don't get it. As I admitted, I would not know of any significant contribution from the Arab culture to my own or to the world at large. I went on saying that this goes for a lot of cultures (which triggered your list I think). How does that make me look deeper into my culture? More importantly, how do all those jewish nobel prize winners relate to them being jewish? And finally, I still am puzzled on your answer to James.

I tried to explain why there are so many Jewish Nobel prize winners. Not because of racial advantages but because of their mentality. Because of their constant need to fit in and prove themselves.

About your own culture, when is the last time you left technolog for some culture ? Be it the theater, music, literature. How many books by Dutch writers did you read ? How much Dutch history do you know ? What makes you Dutch ? The fact you live there ? The fact you know the language ?

If you're asking about all the people nobody know they're Jews all over the world. Well, Like Alice's family, our children will be the last Jews in her (quite large) family. 500 years after the Spanish deportation, most of them aren't Jews anymore nor they want/intend to be.

No no, I'm refering to all the Jews that aren't considered to be Jews (excluded) be it for whatever reason... also where would one go for this "offical" polling

Point being, there is far more than only 20 million. So far it for me to say that if one was "up" for a Nobel prize I'm sure they'd be allowed to join the ranks of those official 20 million...

Dogbert: Aaahhh, now I see (I think). So what makes Arab culture less than Jewish culture is that Arabs are less inclined to integrate/adapt and to invent (hence no prizes)?

Guess a good way for them to improve is to spread their wings and meet others then (like the jews did albeit forced), and maybe we should let them to better the world...

You'll have to check what's the definition of Jew
The basic definition is simply being born to a Jewish mother or to convert.
Now you see why there are roughly 20m ?

If they would do that, they won't be so dependent on Oil, become less religious and their culture would indeed thrive.

Actually yes, I for one know very little about Dutch culture. I suppose Marijuana, big pointy white hats, wooden shoes and a street with red windows wouldn't make one Dutch
If you're not to busy, I'd love to know a little about the Dutch because I seriously know nowthing about you guys.
Stuff like origin, ancient culture (dutch mythology ?) etc.

We'd have to allow them to do that then, which was the pont to some extent at least in that I don't agree with the "let them stay there and us here" idea (notwithstanding that coming here has some or should have some requirements).

Doh, Dutch culture, where to start.... I'll have to think about that. We are one of the more liberal countries with respect to marihuana, but the ROW will soon follow (I hope). One of our most famous writers, Harry Mullisch (a Jew (Jewish mother, Austrian non-jew father)) is now becoming popular in Germany and the UK&US (Discovery of Heaven). I hate his books though. A Duthc compamny is now cleaning the oil from the prestige near the coast of Spain and Portugal. Mainly catholic in the south and protestant in the north with "socialists" all over. A few nobel prizes (the first for economics). I sound disliking of the Germans (unfortunately fading ) We were good at shipping slaves (hence the prosperity of the US), New York is really ours, we are basically down to earth but tend to believe we have the moral right of things more than anyone else. Uhm, never mind, I'll think about it....

I remember learning in history lessons about the Germanians, Francs, Gauls, Flems (?) etc. Which do the Dutch belong to ? What about your language, where is it from ?
