So thats going to be two and a half years max if the judge decides it's going to five years, more likely he won't bother. Out in two for good behaviour or less and then they'll go and fill the person full of holes for grassing on them. Unless there mates have done it already.

Okay back ground info.
Birmingham the other day two girls got shot dead when they left a saloon party. Apparently a machine gun was also involved. The girls just seemed to be unlucky. Armed police are now reportly patroling Birmingham.
In Sheffield theres an caribean club where drive by shootings are quite common. Theres been one there this month and another kid a young boxer was shot in his head yesterday in another part of sheffield. There also seems to be shootings in Leeds and Manchester on a regular basis as well.
It's likely the crack down will be like most crack downs and nothing will happen.

Arming the police has been debated for years in the UK. Recently though it has crept in here and there, largely undebated. There have always been specialist firearms units and 'Armed Response Units'. Nottingham is one place that TP didn't mention that sees more than average gun activity, and armed police patrols.

All guns not heavily controlled are illegal in the UK, so anyone found carrying/using one should be strongly dealt with in my opinion.
