I'm not familiar with that Susan Sarandon quote...

    - Gurm
The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!

I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you

I could say too that the US (the Bush family in particular) had lots of $ from some of the biggest economical supporters of Al-qaeda. I'm still wondering what destroyed the Pentagon on 9-11, they said it was a plane but no evidence of it have been found.
      [quote]

Heres some info for you on that topic:

A Boeing 757, and not a cruise missile or anything else, caused damage to the Pentagon on 9/11.

I didn't understood the Afghanistan war and I don't understand the "upcoming" Iraq war. If they can track so easily were they have its "massive destruction" weapons why they don't destroy those factories or better yet, send the inspectors to that factory.
Reason for that is that Iraq is playing a shell game with UN inspectors

I'm sure theres more info out there if you wanted to look for it.

Forgot who the Senator who said this, but with the evidence provided by Collin Powell today, I would have a guilty verdict with an impartial jury....Like we would ever have that
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

He didn't though. Ms. Sarandon would never stoop to such obvious butchery of the Engrish Rangrage.

Well, the F-117s left New Mexico on Monday. So they should be ready tomorrow if needed.

They don't send out this many of the F-117s unless they are ready to start something serious.

                Just found this poll..

What I find interesting is the way those countries most affected by terrorism are those most in favor of military action. What I wonder about is why the Spanish-speaking nations are so particularly against it.

                    Joke?

Look, let's be COMPLETELY honest here. What have the French done in the past 100 years other than surrender?

Let's see... they ... surrendered, and... surrendered... and... oh yes, they surrendered.

They tested a few nukes in the atmosphere, much to the chagrin of the environmentalists, and... err... I'm drawing a blank here.

OH YES - they invested heavily in Saddam Hussein's regime, so much so that they refuse, against the preponderance of evidence, to back us in ousting him.

Before Iran was evil, so Occident gave support to Saddam. Now Iraq is evil so Occident gives support to Iran and Kuwait.
What most people forget is that the first Gulf War was because Saddam invaded Kuwait. Then they told us that they'll put a democracy in Kuwait but so long it's still being a monarchy. More than that Kuwait is heavily governed by Islamics and there are various reports that link those Islamics with terrorism.

Spain has got its main terrorist attacks coming from inside the country and they've been savage but what we learned is that you can't fight terrorism with weapons. Because when you kill a terrorist like that, you are converting most of his/her family in terrorist. Anger/revenge is a very strong feeling.
Put them in jail and theirself will see and speak with it's relatives/friends the wrong things of being a terrorist. Otherways they become heroes of a revolution.

PS: The quote from Susan Sarandon is from an advert she's done with the former US ambassador in Iraq. It's been censured by all the big TV channels in the US and it's only shown in some cable tvs on NY and Washington.
I didn't quote her for being Susan Sarandon but because what she says in the ad reflects perfectly what I feel.

The majority of the people in Europe are against war, this isn't reflected in their governments opinion though.

I'd like to know what is the word on the street in the US. Are your neigbours/coworkers/friends generally pro war or against it? Is the opinion a strong one in either direction or don't people care too much?

Why is North Korea so against us going into Iraq. Maybe they
know something we don't. The facts are straight and we now
know that Iraq has nuclear weapons, chemical weapons and
the like. But seriously, what can they do with these weapons,
absolutely nothing. They can't get them across the border or
maybe they already did before all this happened. I think if that
were true though, we would of seen something alot bigger than
                          911. I really have a bad suspicion that Iraq will blow up its own
country, what do they have to lose. We send our troops in and
they blow them all up. Mass Martyr, what choice do they really
                          have?
                          Peace Out.

Nobody wants war, Thop. Well, nobody in their right minds. War is a messy, brutal, hateful business, and it gets worse the longer it lasts. I know anyone who survived Dresden or Hamburg agrees. I don't want to see another Western city destroyed like that, ever. That's why I know we should squash this guy and those like him before that happens. What would you do with a lunatic who develops, builds and hides weapons of mass destruction and supports terrorists? Saddam is dangerous in the extreme, and if one of his nukes was set off in Europe, I think you would see those blue bars on that chart suddenly shrink to nothing. I would rather not sit around and let them do that to us, though.

Throp - As far as Americans' opinions on this matter, you will get a different answer depending on where you live, what type of neighborhood you live in, who you work with.

Polls you see on TV are not worth the time spent listening to the result.

All I can say for sure is that there is no consensus. Alot of people feel attacking Iraq is necessary, with or without UN approval. Alot of people feel that UN approval should be obtained. There are still alot who feel that initiating a war is against our historical foreign policy and should never be done unless we are attacked first.

Where the percentages lie in the overall population of the US is difficult to say. As I said, there is no clear consensus.

The point Thop is making is that noone is supporting the need for military action in Europe, or very few are I should say. The point here is that all we've seen is evidence such as, "he may use this for that", and "this could be used to do this", very little or no proof that it is going on. I think we could be more forceful after the recent evidence, but all out assault is going too far - sure, we don't trust Saddam, but do you think Iraq and most of the east trust the US, EU and UN? So, by that token, they see the US et al as a dictatorship over them.
