SINGAPORE, March 11 (Reuters) - Computer peripherals maker Creative Technology Ltd (NasdaqNM:CREAF - news) on Monday unveiled plans to re-enter the graphics market -- by taking over loss making U.S.-based 3Dlabs Inc (NasdaqNM:TDDD - news) for US$103.7 million -- after reducing its exposure in the sector barely two years ago.
hmmm...Me thinks Creative is making a poor decision, but hey! what do I know? Didn't they get out of the graphics business because they lost a lot of money?

When you're done reading, could you summarize it for those of us not willing to read 99 pages full of subtle hints and misinformation?
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

that's the answer. Creative just bought the whole 3DLabs! Read the whole PR. there is few very clear sentences stating that Creative is actively bringing 3DLabs tech also to gamers market.
yep yep, more competition means usually more choices and lower prices. Me likes!
EDIT: well, someone was faster than me... anyways, 3DLabs is the main dev for OpenGL2.0, so this cannot be under estimated.

There are a few here that are telling everyone to not go and buy that new GF4 card just yet, to save that money and continue to save and see what happens in the next month or so. That there is something in the works and based on what little is known at this time is looks to be a real winner. Then there are others who are saying no way and until there is an offical announcement from Matrox or until someone who is the know is able to say anything then it is just vaporware. Then there are some who will go ahead and wait to see what happens and really hopes that Matrox really has a real winner this time around.
For more spec informtion go to the MURC's homepage and read the article titled "Parhelia".
