            It means a new core, which would (in all probability) have no banding.

              The only problem is that if it is a Parhelia 8X with maybe new 0.13 micron process and new bug fixes they will charge £250-300 for it which i dont think is fair for us really.

              Just because they couldnt get it right the first time!

                  The original news was speaking of around 170 € (+ VAT) for the smaller one, and 235 € (+ VAT) for the more expensive. Of course it all depends on whether this really was a european price, or simply an american price converted to euros (which is quite different, of course).

                    That's for the crippled Millenium-P series.

                    We're talking about the P8X, which should be an improved Parhelia.

                    Vigilant was talking about the P8X also having higher clocks as well...

                      I might be a little confused about all this.

                      If I remember correctly, the Parhelia 512 cannot handle AGP8x, so if the LX series handles AGP8x, their core is at least some variation of the presumed 8x version of the P-512.

                      Which means that the "Parhelia 8x" reference might only be about the LX series.

                      Then again maybe not.

                      I hope we get some information soon, because my G400Max isn't sufficient any more, and I'm very close to switching to a Radeon 9700 or 9800.

                        As I understand it, the Parhelia-LX would refer to the Millenium-P Series.

                          its G800 all over - why does this mean that p8x would be a dx8 part though, i think we are not going to see it any time soon.
                          is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?

                            Hey... maybe they are skipping the full 8X and shift to Parhelia II

                              Wasn't it:

                              SunDog = Parhelia 8x
                              Pitou = Parhelia ][

                              And P650 and P750 should be scale down of SunDog or just Parhelia core on different board.

                                IIRC Sundog is Parhelia 64MB
