ive seen those articles online. the ER doctor i saw in the hospital happened to be from san jose. and he worked at that hospital and saw quite a few bites like mine.

the brown recluse spider isnt that big greebe and we dont have them in our parts i think they are only 2-3cms long., not inches

they said that it wasnt a black widow cos they leave two marks and with time the blck widow bite heals

they said with the brown recluse bite. or the bite from a recluse spider doesnt heal it gets worse from time.

there are also lots of online articles from universities saying that there are recluses in california.

hard to believe anything online anymore.

all the specialists that saw me said the same thing, that it was a recluse bite

so who knows. all i know is that it ****ing sucked and was painful as all hell

OMG ! I'm really happy that they didn't amputate it.
Lizzie with only one foot left wouldn't be as cool as before .
        Best wishes for you!!!

I don't think I would have been lol-ing or haha-ing if they had told me that.. more like "THE **** YOU WILL!" After which I would have grabbed the nearest weapon and backed my way outta that place!

pretty much what my Dad did a few years ago. Huge diabetic ulcer on his foot. (the photo's of which make that thumb and spider bite look tame). They said we'll probably have to amputate. His answer was 'Like hell..' 5 weeks in hospital (good private) and he kept the foot.

God damn, your heart must have stopped when the said that.

So a bite from a Brown Recluse gets worse until the point it's treated, or there is no treatment and in only gets worse?

You mentioned that over time the bite from a black widow heals... Do you mean even if untreated? How painful was it when the bite first happened?

I still can't believe that thump. Can you imaging if he was bit in a certain other place.

                Hope you're feeling better.

Thanks for posting that link I sent ya Chuck. Just like this guy I was talking to the otherday while fishing... he's a couple decades my younger and has fished in Florida all his life, but nowhere else. What he called a "Brim" wouldn't be from where you are from or where I'm from Lizzie... their patterns and shape are very different. That's when I tossed him a tube of Preperation H and informed that there are over 3000 species of fish related to "Brim", large mouth, South American Oscars, Blue Gill, Red Eye, Perch etc were all interrelated within the same genius.

                  edit

Cute Chuck, keep it in your pants or you'll meet the fate my nextdoor neighbour did last week. What I ment was I reamed him out with facts after have tossed him a tube of PH for the anal retentive additude he was dishing.

But then again if treated immediately it doesn't get all that bad

I'll bet the male Black Widdow doesn't feel that way about it.
