what's it with people I know and spider bites? Close friend at work had one on HER foot and the whole thing swelled and turned purple. Healing faster than yours thoughWikipedia and Google.... the needles to my tangent habit.

Wow, glad to hear the foot is healing now. I've been away from the forums for a bit, so I'm just now catching up on things.
I've lived around black widows my entire life -- they give me "the creeps", but so far I've never been bitten. A black widow's web is very much different than any other spider web -- it's very strong and stiff. Whenever I touch one, I get shivers down my spine.
I was reading your earlier post about visiting San Jose. Like Dave said, too bad we didn't know you were in our neighborhood. We would have loved to at least get together for a couple of drinks. I hope you don't keep a bad memory of the Bay Area 'cause it's really got a lot of cool places and great people.
