I remember him coming from one lap behind in the British GP one year. With 3 laps to go he flew up behind his teammate Piquet, who was leading at the time, and totally unnerved the guy. Faked him to the outside, and when Piquet went to block him, darted by on the inside and won the race. Best damn F1 race ever! The Brits went wilder than the Italians that day.

Pity. Used to be a hardcore fan.
Huh?!? So you're definitely NOT a real sports fan, then. You like entertainment? OK, go watch wrestling. In sports (and here motorsport, too - even though theres already too much entertainment in there) you have to accept the fact that theres sometimes a person/team that simply is the best over a few years.

Ferraris staying on the top after so many titles should definitely be admired by any real sports fan and not be the cause of envy as it often seems to be
If at all you should give the culprit to the other drivers / teams for not being able to catch up.

OK, the Ferrari team look to be on yet another winning streak, bar accidents. Is the car or is it the driver, or a combination?

I have a totally impractical idea: the drivers should take turns with the makes of cars. This way, we would see who are the best drivers and which are the best cars. If Schumi kept winning, whether he was behind the wheel of a Ferrari, a BAR, a Jaguar, a Renault etc., then we would know for sure that he was the best driver. If the Ferraris were dominant, no matter who was driving them, then we would know they were the best cars. It would put everyone and every car on a level race track.

After all, jockeys ride for different owners, why not drivers?
Wheres the problem? Just watch which driver was always the first in his team (Schumacher always was, most often by a good margin, while e.g. DC always seems to be the second best, no matter whom his partner was - or should I say he always was worst out of two?)

Schumacher's first two championships were with Benetton, when that certainly wasn't the best car.

Heh, Indiana... It's all about money. Ferrari has the biggest budget, combining incomes from both Italy and Germany by using 2 sport icons. The car and the driver.
More money means better car in F1, and better car, sadly, means the championship. I'm not saying that MS isn't a good driver. I'm saying that he isn't that much better than Montoya, Alonso and other talented drivers.
Other reason for Ferraris domination is that Bernie's favorite team just happens to be Ferrari, so they are treated with kid gloves most of the time.
On the positive side, Ferrari, as a team is magnificent. unmatched reliability, great tactics and teamwork. Gotta give them credit.

Go watch wrestling? Bah, I might just as well. It's as predictable as F1 has become.

I remember Schumacher driving a benneton that got stuck in fourth. Hardly effected his lap times as soon as he got a new racing line worked out.

Also I can remember one race where it was chucking it down everyone was struggling. Suddenly in the screen a red car appeared clearly going faster then anyone else. Amazing race.

Yep - I think that man could do it blindfolded if necessary. Move the British GP back to April and we'll see if more often

To my knowledge, this is not true. Toyota is said to currently have biggest budget, Ferrari, Mercedes and BMW are all on one level.
Do not forget BAR with the big tobacco company in the back..

Qualifying is changing...I'm not sure how this makes it any more interesting though?

BBC, Sport, BBC Sport, Sport Online, world, uk, international, foreign, british, online, service

I think I'll probably prefer the revised TV schedule as it is difficult to make the time to see all the qualifying coverage and the race in one weekend. This way, a 2 hr prog (or maybe even 90 minutes) can include all the pre (now-mid) qualifying banter and the important part of the qualifying.

LOL they are so worried about sand in Bahrain they are trying to 'glue' the dessert down

I really hope this race doesn't come down to 'who has the best air filter'. BAR are getting going and Jaguar really need a finish.

Can you believe the luck of Ferrari? Schu is the only man in the world who can make it rain in Bahrain in April!

Congrats to Button again, 3rd place, now 3rd in the drivers championship and BAR are equal 3rd in constructors championship. Webber only managed a point. Poor old Raikonnen retired with an engine failure again.

Don't say this is boring anymore!

Well done to Bahrain for producing a cracking circuit in just 16 months.
