    • A larger pic would be nice. I can't make out the features of that fountain

      • It's a fountain, is it? Thought it was a pile of scrap iron shown on a postage stamp

            • Here is a bigger pic of the square it lives in.

It is not hong kong but getting a bit warmer.

It was to commemorate a visit of a certain notable in the 20th C to a certain city and there is a symbolism in the fountain itself...more later x

                  • You got it SitFlyer, how much googling was that??

'Sliced into grassy chunks by the paths of King William Street and Grote Street, busy Victoria Square lies at the very heart of Adelaide City. In the centre of the square, Queen Victoria's statue casts an austere eye north towards the fountain, built to commemorate the 1963 visit of her great, great grand-daughter, Elizabeth.

The fountain symbolises the three rivers--Murray, Torrens and Onkaparinga--from which Adelaide draws its water. It is a pleasant place to wait for the Glenelg tram or simply to sit and watch the city chase its tail.'

                    • Didn't take much googling. Since I could make out 'BANK' on the building, in the background, I looked in countries with English as the primary language

Red roof looks quite italian but scenery around doesn't fit... hence possibly europe or asia....
