He botched it because he thought of Anakin as a brother. He said he wouldn't kill Anakin to yoda before yoda told him he wasn't strong enough to take on Palpatine. He did what I guess he thought was enough to damage Anakin. I mean he cut off his legs and his arm. I guess Obi-Wan did what he deemed to be substantial bodily damage to Anakin.

Or it was enough to kill him without Obi-wan doing the deed directly.

The other thing I didnt quite get is that the Emporor and Vadar where on a early Republic Cruser watching the Death Star getting build and Esp 3 is approxmently 19 years before esp 4. Damn that Death Star must have take a long time to build, but that also begs the question of when did they start on the Second Death Star in Esp 6, if the first one took nearly 20 years to build?

The other thing I didnt care for was in the same sence with Vadar and the Emerpor...they where on the old school Star Destoryer with TIE fighters flying around...to me the latter episodes show the wear and tear and the "dark ages" that the Repbulic went into, thus the less high tech looking weapons and what not in them.

Maybe they took so long to build the first one because they had to bring production capacity up to build it. When they lost the 1st one, they had most of the facilities already there to resume production and only took 10 years to get the 2nd one to the stage it was at? Sides all they really needed was the big gun, they seemed to care less that the rest of the shell was completed.
