The "disproven WMD facts" may be coming into question.

Several US media outlets here have sniffed out files that while de-classified have not been released because the administration doesn't want to re-open that issue, distracting from current ones.

IF reports are correct these files document that WMD's were in Iraq and where they went before and during the war.

Dawkins is not one to talk. His intolerance for religion and for people of whatever faith, whether well-founded or no, makes him no different from those he rails against.

Hitler was most specifically NOT an atheist. His nominal religion was Christian, earning him the tacit support of the Roman Catholic Church (Yeah! Go Hitler! The Inquisition failed, maybe YOU can kill all the Jews while we stand by and idly do nothing!). In their defense, John Paul II was rabidly anti-Nazi. His successor, mind you, not so much. Hitler Youth, anyone? Grand Inquisitioner? Oops.

However, Hitler's TRUE leanings were more towards... mystical Christianity. Relics of power, the Holy Grail, etc. Lots of the occult.

But the point is he was FAR from an atheist.

This is the whole point. The Arab world will say "Amen, Brother" at everything another Arab state says, but they won't lift a little finger to help them implement it. Even less would they help a non-Arab state, like Iran, no matter how strong the rhetoric. NEVER ONCE in the history of Islam have Arab nations helped one another, except for a few ephemeral bilateral agreements. How long did the United Arab Republic (Syria and Egypt) last in the 1950s? A couple of years? The only lasting union has been the UAE, but they aren't even countries, only tribal sheikdoms. Yes, the Arabs have been threatening to throw Israel into the sea, since 1948. But they will never do it because they are never united enough to form a true alliance. They are a paper tiger. And they know damn well that if one of them use extraordinary means to do it, such as nuclear weapons, it will incur the reprobation of the whole world which no country, not even Iran, could hope to cope with (and Khomeini knew this full well).

When I was living in Egypt in the 1950s, we used to say that the Arabs were all wind and piss. It's true! Want proof? Look at the Egyptian boots in the Negev.

So nominal affiliation as a Christian and wishing to do away with the Jews makes Hitler's crimes religious in origin? Feh. The Nazis were very specific about executing Jews based upon heritage, not current religious affiliation. And Stalin's crimes had nothing whatsoever to do with anything based in religion.. he was just a sadistic prick. Did seminary make him that way? I doubt it. Seminary is just like any school.. it's what you make of it. He certainly was not in keeping with anything Christ said in most of his actions.

And btw, did you read to the bottom of that page in the link you gave, Gurm? If so I doubt you would have quoted it since you would also have read:

No, Atheism at its fundamental level is a refusal to accept the idea of an all-powerful creator. I can understand that. I don't share that refusal, but I understand how people could.

KvHagedorn don't tell me you still believe that a universe was created in six days and mozes split the sea, Adam Eve and the apple. That is the same as saying that Santa exists, I can understand a 5 year old believing it, but when an adult does that it makes me wonder.

I don’t have a problem with people believing in god, people need something to believe in, but believing in fairy tales I can’t understand that.

I can believe that there is a God, but i can't believe that there is some bloke with a long beard that created everything in 6 days.
