One day the British foreign secretary will wake up and discover that, in practice, there's very little difference between living under Exquisitely Refined Multicultural Sensitivity and Sharia. As a famously sensitive Dane once put it, "To be or not to be, that is the question."
Spot on, and there are multiple fuses lit. This, the Iranian crisis (and yes, it is a crisis) etc. etc. are coming to a head. The question is; will the oh-so politically correct leaders of many western nations grow some big brass kahones in time for the big showdown?

That is IMO really up for grabs.

They'd better hurry up because the arms control experts on todays news programs think we have anywhere from 6 months to 1 year before Iran has a working nuke.

Worse yet it's now been released that Iran tested a ballistic missile in January 2005 that has a 2000 km range, and that this was a technology testbed for a missile with an even longer range.

      Tick, tick tick....

But they apparently have no such “respect” for Christianity; they didn’t hesitate for a second to show this image of the virgin Mary made out of elephant dung and pictures of female genitalia: New York, Brooklyn museum settle funding dispute. (Hat tip: christheprofessor.)

Why don’t they just come clean and admit why they won’t show the Mohammed cartoons?
Nothing new. This is just a small part of the "culture war" going on in the US. Basically anyone can slam Christians but don't you dare say anything about any other group

        • Islam the Tolerant

An enormous furor in the Muslim world continues to grow in response to a couple of Danish cartoons. A few weeks ago some cartoonists in Denmark drew some caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad for a newspaper spread. This is apparently a supreme insult in the world of Islam, so ever since angry Muslims across Europe and the Middle East have been engaged in huge protests, condemning the cartoonists and Denmark in general.

The latest development has apparently been the torching of the Danish embassy in Syria.

As you can tell from MY cartoon, I personally find it quite ironic that the Muslims are so offended by the drawings, considering they were, on par, considerably milder than a lot of the hateful artwork that comes out of the Arab world.

              • Tuborg is a great beer by the way!

I had it for the first time in February 2000 while flying El Al airlines to Israel.

I was on a birthright israel trip.

The steward was going around asking for drinks. I was one of the last people he asked (because of where I was sitting). Everyone else had asked for a coke or other soft drink.

I said, "how about a beer?" He said, "ok". Everyone turned to look at me; seems no one thought to ask for alcohol.

Then he asked me, "what brand?" I said, "something Israeli". He came back with a Tuborg.

                It was delicious.

For the longest time I thought Tuborg was Israeli!

                Stupid Israeli steward!

Maybe this is why no images of him are allowed?

                          • From jihadwatch.com

BBC apologizes for showing some of the Muhammad cartoons

Yes, they showed some of them, but not the realllly terrifying ones, and they're sooooo sorry and they won't ever ever ever do it again. Please don't hurt them. "BBC defends cartoon coverage," from The Guardian, with thanks to JE:
BBC News executives have apologised for any offence they caused by showing the controversial Danish cartoons depicting the prophet Muhammad - but said the corporation had stopped short of using "excessively offensive" images.
UK national newspapers decided not to publish the cartoons, which were originally printed in a Danish newspaper and sparked angry protests by Muslims in London, the Middle East and Asia over the weekend.

The corporation used video featuring European newspapers that have published the cartoons on its news bulletins, News 24 and the BBC News website.

"Obviously the BBC does not want to give offence to anyone on either side of this debate," said Peter Horrocks, the BBC's editor of TV News.
Debate? There is no debate. There is a struggle between exponents of a free society and organized thuggery. That's all.
"So if people - whichever side of the argument they fall within - have taken offence, I am obviously concerned and I apologise for that...."
"But we've taken a decision not to go further than that in order not to gratuitously offend the significant number of Muslims in Britain but also - because we make decisions for our pieces to be broadcast internationally - the very significant numbers of Muslim viewers of BBC World television."

                              USA now fully support Denmark.
Mr. Cain have just appeared on national Danish people.
