Doesn't look as easy as you think. It looks like a fountain in the grounds of an expo complex but, as nearly every large city in the world has one, this doesn't make it in any easier and there are few clues that I can pick up, otherwise. The one thing is the cobbled pavé, which may suggest Europe, but even this isn't over useful, if the guess is right. How about a clue?

Ah just meant it would be obvious to a few here. As for a clue... it's not in Europe or the Americas.

Just to give an extra bit of help, the city it's in serves up some of the best "as you like it pancakes."

Did a quick search through major places in Asia, Africa and Australasia but found nothing. Give up!

This looks so familiar, I'm sure I've seen this picture in a newspaper recently, it was an article about a city on the German/Polish border...Googling it gave me Gorlitz, but I'm not sure. Prague was my other thought, but it seems improbable.
