Hey, even looking carefully, I cannot see any distinguishing features that would give us a clue. My first guess would be almost anywhere between Miami and Seattle. Is that close enough? (Note I don't say W>E or E>W

Well, yes! I have problems with the topography. I'm not very familiar with Nevada, only been there once for a short time, but most of the cities, as I recall it, are in valleys with quite a bit of mountainous country, and I see little evidence of either in the photo (although it is difficult to say, as I don't know what kind of lens was used and that could distort the perspective. Even the Great Basin is pretty hilly. I haven't got any time to really search and I see no real clue in the photo, so I'll make one last wild guess which I could imagine you might select for the name: Eureka.
