FYI (What EXACTLY does that mean anyway?), disabling JavaScript didn't help the least bit. Playing with loading images/not loading them/displaying only cached images helps though, but is fiddly.

The forums do not use any Javascript as they are PHP based. I don't understand how it occurs periodically as nothing changes except the content of the posts. I'm afraid this looks to be an Opera problem so you'll have to look to the developers for a cure.

I have also been experiencing the loop problem under Opera, at first I thought it was because I upgraded to v6.04, but I remembered that the problem also occurred under v6.03...

It doesn't change anything whether I set Opera to be identified as Opera or Internet Explorer (hmm, though I haven't tried the Mozilla settings).

And as mentioned above, the problem suddenly went away, but it keeps popping up once in a while.

Right now I'm using Mozilla v1.1a, which is a fast allround browser, and when uing the mouse-gesture plugin, it's almost as good as Opera.

Let's hope Opera is able to patch the problem.

Beonex is like a lightweight Mozilla. Or more precisely it is a lightweight implemantation of the Mozilla Engine for the EndUser (the Mozilla people never stop to mention that Mozilla is only a tech demo ).
It is fast, on some sites faster than IE, but on most sites a tad slower. However i more like for it's extra features (cookie managment, popup handling, image blocking etc.) than its rendering abilities.
So in the end i use IE for 80% of all sites and Beonex for the rest.

See, Thop - with Opera, it's more like the other way around Works like a charm on most sites, reasonably well on almost all others, and only a few percentage of sites (which most of the time aren't worth being looked at anyway) don't display correctly with Opera - most of which are at Microsoft.com

Opera is fast, especially whith many windows open (still has some bugs unfortunately).

I read your lips and I hear you. But that doesn´t explain why Opera works flawlessly on other fori that uses PHP, like e.g. Beyond3D, or why it worked perfectly on MURC for a couple of months.

I´m not convinced the fault is within Opera.

Ever notice that if you just change Opera to ID as IE, the MS pages load fairly decent?

I've had Opera with 30+ Windows open, still runs fine. Sure I can't see the title of any of the windows, and its taking about 100 MB of RAM with all its caching, but its still responsive. Its come a long way from v4.

Ummm, if it's an Opera problem how come I've never experienced it? I use Opera and check Murc pretty much every day (sometimes a couple of times a day) and have never experienced any such problems.
