alessandro: Win2000 has had DX7 built in since beta3 (was that august?)

I havn't had any problems at all with the 5.41 drivers in response to the flashing chopper colours, although in win2k there's some small graphic glitches(which I've noticed in pretty much every d3d game)

Well- My 16MB sh g400 vanilla OEM. scored 2250 on the default tests. That seems ok to me, since I own the slowest g400 model.

            My system :
p3500, 192MB PC100 Ram, g400 16MB OEM, 13.5MGB IBM Deskstar 7200 rpm, 4.3 GB Seagate, 3com PCI Ethernet, Diamond MX300 sound, Modem Blaster USB 56k, Panasonic 5x DVD, Yamaha SCSI 4x4x16 CDRW, Tekram DC390F PCI SCSI Interface.

              Some AMD results:

              1024x768x16 16Z 16b tex DX7 T&L 1395
              1024x768x32 32Z 32b tex DX7 T&L 1365

              K6-3 448, 128MB ram, G400 32MB SH, Win95, PD 3.41

Got something like 1450 with the buggy PD 3.307 with 10x7x16. Also, Win98 has historically been faster for me with 3DMark99Max benchmarks.

What's interesting is that the AMD 3D-Now! setting seems to be actually slower than the DX7 version of T&L. And naturally different resolutions don't have much effect.

Well, Getright is downloading that 19MB monster fer me now. Hopefully when I get home I'll be able to install it and see where I stand with my machine.

To get it to install in win2k you have to go into system properties/advanced/environment variables and change the temp directory to something without spaces.

I can't get it to work at all in win2k pro rc2, using 5.00.007 dx7 drivers. When I go to benchmark it comes up with the screen and has something like white paint dripping from the top of the screen and everything else is flickering with racing black lines up and down. In demo mode I hear the music but the screen stays black...
