your typical Nail polish remover is Acetone. It will work but do not get on anything but the HS and or the top of P's GPU (it's nickel plated copper heat spreader). Use a rag or what not and apply to that to remove.

I used plain old enamel paint thinner

Just a quick comment on nail polish remover....

Many of these now come with 'conditioners' (for the nails)... I think its a lannolin (sp?) compound.... Be careful... this stuff will bake on a cpu/Parhelia... Quick test.... Get your remover and add a drop to a mirror and allow to dry (use a hair dryer).... if there is a stain / residue afterwords.... DONT USE IT. I discovered this after trying to clean up some bits on my car.....

The best option is to use enammel thinners or to get your self down to the chemist (drugstore) and buy a small bottle over the counter....

What's wrong with the big 1L bottle I've got of pure aceton ? It does help to be a chemist But on a more serious note, if you are using acetone to clean of stuff on plastic surfaces remember that by simply holding your hand on the stain it evaporates and thus it's easy to remove before it ruins the plastic. And as a final note acetone is poisenous especially for pregnant women and you should be cautious with it.

Ok understanding that english isn't your native language, I don't fully grasp what you are trying to say...

if you are using acetone to clean of stuff on plastic surfaces remember that by simply holding your hand on the stain it evaporates and thus it's easy to remove before it ruins the plastic.
Are you saying that once you apply acetone to a plastic surface all that is needed is to place your hand near it, thus allowing the heat from your hand to evaporate it quicker so that the plastic won't be damaged?

What I'm trying to say is that the boiling point of acetone is very low, in the 35-40 degrees Celsius range. Thus by holding your hand on the acetone stain mostly all of it will evaporate.
You can of course also simply use a hairdrier for a few seconds... Though as I said you shouldn't be breathing in too much of the vapour as it's dangerous.

                            Hope this helps ?

Though as I side note I haven't checked how long time it takes for the acetone to actually ruin plastic. Maybe I can check it at home tonight if I found a good piece of expendable plastic

Spare yourself I can answer that real quick. Most every plastic used in the electronics industry is immediately damaged visually upon direct contact with acetone. All plastics (there are very few exceptions) must avoid any and all contact with it.

I just checked the nail cleaner stuff I used on my Board and its Non-acetone type stuff

Though the debonder I used seems to be acetone...though nothing is acting up...so far
