Scomp, he appears to be around 4'... they removed one last week of about the same size on the otherside of the lake (there are 5 total).
This morning a pair of otters came tromping through my backyard too. Now that is a mischievous critter!

So is your lake catch and release or by limit and run it through the food chain?
My brother's got a place on Whidbey Island on an 80 acre lake. We would get up early and get out on the boat, catch our limit in Trout before the wives' were up and ready with a much different itinerary.
4 foot gators you say? Guess any kind of skinny dippin is out, eh?
Oh yeah, what kind of voting machines do you have in your county?

4 feet???? That is just a baby. I remember running up on one when I was younger that was every bit of 8 feet long. Use to live on the bay down near Mobile, Alabama. It was not uncommon to see two or three of them, at night, setting on the roadway that crossed the bay. They would come up on the roadway because of the warmth. Knew a guy one time that totaled his car when he hit one. It crossed in front of him while he was on his way home. He said the damn thing never even stopped.

Oh BTW, welcome back Greebe.
Libertarian is still the way to go if we truly want a real change.
Hell Joel, there are fish in Wisconsin less than 4 feet long with teeth that concern me, let alone a 4 foot long reptile that has nothing but survival on it's mind.
According to the Florida Museum of Natural History, between 1948 and 1995 there have been 218 alligator attacks (with 7 fatalities) in Florida.
But they do offer this advice;
"If you come face-to-face with an alligator, it is said that you should run away in a rapid zig-zag motion. Alligators tend to follow the actions of their prey, and they cannot turn as quickly as they can run straight. Gators can run as fast as a horse for about 30 feet. But they don’t make turns well."
Comforting, isn't it?

Actually I got a better look at him this evening and is more like 5'. But yes it's a youngin. If I can catch him he'll be turned over to animal control. I also have my machete handy at all times... just in case
A buddy of mine car was totaled by a gator when I was stationed in Biloxi, MS. An 11' behemoth was hell bent on eating his dog whom was in it. His supervisor and First Seargent thought he was lying and ready to slap him down with an article 15... that is until the base police confirmed the problem.
Thanks for posting up my portrait, Ken
BTW Spinner, that would be a nebulizing bong, with N2O injection
