Jord, you're weird. Jenna and Barbara are fine as hell. Since I believe it is legal for the spouse of someone over 21 to drink, as long as they are 18 and with the spouse, I will offer to marry either one of them here and now!

Living in Texas has given us a longer, closer, and fairer look at the Bushes than the rest of the country has had, and because of this, I seem to remember GWB being reluctant to run because his daughters weren't thrilled about the idea initially. Who could blame them? I wouldn't want my life under a microscope either. When I was in college, legal drinking ages varied more from state to state. In Texas, it was 18, and changed to 19 just after I did . Unfortunately, in Illinois, where I went to school, the legal drinking age was 21. This didn't deter most of us at all.. everyone drank, even at a geek school like the University of Chicago. The stupidity was, that if we wanted to go to a bar and drink legally, we could not do it in Chicago where we could ride public transit home and be safe. Thousands of high school seniors and others under 21 would make the drive to Wisconsin, where the drinking age was 18 at the time. They would then have to drive the 80 miles home after drinking where they could get it. How dumb is this?

Anyhow, I really feel for Jenna and Barbara. They get national media attention and are the target of liberal jokesters just because they did something that probably 90% of us did when we were in college. Was using a fake ID poor judgement? Yeah. Did I ever use poor judgement when I was a freshman in college? YEAH.. so what? I think most people are sensible enough to make nothing out of this, so one wonders why the reporters even bother to waste their time on it.

I was not just a matter of poor judgement it's against the law, which their grandfather's buddy Ronnie put into place, to purchase alcohol, by whatever method, if you are under 21. It's not my damn fault that they are the president's daughters. The law is the law and it should apply equally to all. If it had been me, or probably the majority of the people here, we probably would have been arrested and thrown in jail. I think they got off light and you know probably why? Because they are the president daughters. Even GWB got off light because of who he was when he was stopped for DUI years ago. Did I ever try buying alcohol when I was underage?? NO! Because I knew what would happen to me once I got home if I ever got caught.
