I bought beer under age for the rest of the gang I was. If I got caught I wouldn't have moaned. However what I didn't think about was the shop owner/management also being in trouble for serving minors.
Ironically at 24 I had more trouble getting drinks than I did when I was 13/14. I had to grow a beard in the end.

I was not just a matter of poor judgement it's against the law, which their grandfather's buddy Ronnie put into place, to purchase alcohol, by whatever method, if you are under 21. It's not my damn fault that they are the president's daughters. The law is the law and it should apply equally to all. If it had been me, or probably the majority of the people here, we probably would have been arrested and thrown in jail. I think they got off light and you know probably why? Because they are the president daughters. Even GWB got off light because of who he was when he was stopped for DUI years ago. Did I ever try buying alcohol when I was underage?? NO! Because I knew what would happen to me once I got home if I ever got caught.
First, I don't know what your laws are down there, but in Wyoming, and Missouri, the law is that Minor in Possesion of Alcohol was not a jailable offense, they were detained at the station until a parent could pick them up if they were under 19, if they were 19 or 20, then they were given a ticket unless they were drinking to the point where they could not drive and had no means of transportation, in this case, they would be held until they would blow zero on a breathalyzer.

Now the punishment would depend on the judge, and the actual commision of the crime, oh and their history.

I have seen one person punished by spending weekends in jail and it was his 21st offense (yeah, this guy is still an alcoholic), and this was because he was driving and had a suspended license, his lawyer cut the deal that all the other charges would be dropped if the MIP was plead guilty to and the jail term and a few other conditions were met.

Maybe thrown in jail was a little to the extreme in my post but either way you were taken down to the jailhouse for a little while. I do thought remember a couple of guys that did spend a few hours in lockup for try to buy alcohol while underage. More than likely though it was probably due to them mouthing off or something and making things worse.

Maybe they were singled out and if it had been someone else maybe we would never know about it but they are the president's daughters and that is the breaks of the game.

I think both of them look just fine. Of course, they aren't supermodel material, but for Jorden to pick on their looks just seems wrong. They are above average, whereas Miss Clinton was well below average IMO.

I thought Miss Clinton was reasonable, helluva lot nicer than Mrs Clinton anyway

Oh, and Monica too

Still, you can't beat Margaret Thatcher for looks

Matt, if you ever read my post above, you would've known why I said it. Btw, I never said anything about both of them in the first place, just about one. And none of the pictures shown give due credit.

Besides, you and I are too old to even think about them (outside being in Texas state), so what do we care

Jord.

Eh?

You said she was ugly because you didn't like her hair, figure, or eyes. None of which I find ugly.

Yeah, I can think about her, she is nineteen, right? Well guess what? She is old enough.

Sorry, Jord, I am very versed in English, and scored perfect on Reading Comprehension on all of my standarized tests in school, but your sentence makes absolutely no sense, I had to assume what you were trying to say based on what you usually write.

Don't be a bull, Jorden, I am not insulting you, I am just saying that I notice a particular way each person writes on the forum, and sometimes I have to use that knowlege to "translate". As with any translation, the meaning can get lost, and obviously from what you are saying, you lost me in the translation

hi,

I'm just passing through and I just had to share my 2 cents...

Re: Bush Girls Busted.
Yes, this is an invasion of privacy of sorts but quite frankly, fame doesn't come without a price. These kids (or their parents for that matter) are no different/better than the Hollywood-lot that get swarmed by the paparazzi day in, day out; if this incident was related to a Hollywood start/starlet, then it would have been on the news for weeks but when it hits home (for the president), you have all kinds of white house speakers and reps saying that some respect and privacy should be allowed.... blah blah blah...

Bottom line.. an offense was commited (and they got a slap on the hand) and, of course, the only thing that is discussed is whether or not they are being targetted.

It bothers me that the only thing that kept coming up in all these talks on the media is this whole incident is afecting the kids and their parents. Did anybody stop to think that this is the 2nd offense and, because alcohol is one of the leading causes of violence/death (in any form/fashion), there should be 0 tolerance for any offence it's method of acquisition or its consumption?

If a "nobody" (high-profiles person) like myself or any one of you is caught buying alcohol illegally, we don't get the royal treatment of being discussed on the news, we go straight to jail (to the station), we do not pass go and we do not collect the $200.

If their father is not satisfied with this, he should probably consider lowering the drinking instead of playing the favoritism/double-standards game

hmmmm.....

140mph at night on a long straight country road in a Chevy Chevelle SS. What made this run so interesting thought is that at 110mph all lights on the car went out and when they came back on a couple of seconds or so later we were pegged at 140mph.

I've also been up to 110mph in my Chevy Cavalier. 2.2 liter 4 cylinder engine.

Did you pay dearly for your lawlessness, Joel? Someone once said, "let he who is without sin..."

Being the President's daughter is a double edged sword, you know? Jenna was definitely singled out because she was Jenna Bush. Someone told the manager "hey, that's Jenna Bush!" so he came over and IDed her. I doubt very seriously that she "got off easy" for this, either. No judge is going to throw a 19yo girl in jail for something like this unless she is too poor to pay the fine, which unfortunately many are. Even then, they are allowed to make payments on the fine without getting locked up. Jenna also got her name strewn all across the nation with this unflattering crap, and I'm sure she got a serious talking to as well. Has she not suffered enough for having a beer with her enchiladas? Criminy.
