I followed the links that you gave. The facts.org site was worthless, the NORML link only went to statements that decriminalization does not increase use. Like Greebe said, where are the (relevant) links?

When did I say it was safe? Like any drug, or even alcohol, you have risks when taking it. But again, where does it say that if you do NOT abuse the use of marajuana you will experience ill side effects?

And of course it is not better to drive after getting stoned, sheesh, I never said it was a good thing. But fact still stands that alcohol is more dangerous behind a wheel than marajuana is.

EDIT: Why is the facts.org site worthless Wombat, just because you don't like what it says??? At least I gave reasons on why the studies you link did not actually address the issue we are discussing.

BuddMan, you're only trying to justify you bane. Studies can always be altered, people can always lie, the truth never changes. Pot is a drug, period. So is alcohol and tobacco. The difference is that alcohol and tobacco are so entrenched in society that they can't dig it out. They tried in the 1920's and 1930's in the US and it failed miserably.

To prevent the problems that alcohol and tobacco have caused in society, they make substances similar to those illegal. This curbs distribution to some extent and limits the availability. Does it stop it, no. Should they be made legal, no. If pot became legal and was widely available, I gaurantee that you would see pot related car fatalities and physical problems related to pot smoking skyrocket to the same levels as alcohol and tobbaco.

The war on pot has been a failure because everyone, even law enforcement, smokes pot.

This comment is complete BS and you know it. Maybe people you hang out with smoke dope, but that doesn't mean everyone else does.

I didn't say everyone smoked pot. But it is slowly making a comeback. Do you even know the reasons it was made illegal? You'd be surprised...

Anyway, I am betting it will be legalized in the next 5-7 years, but probably more for medical use than anything else.

The point that I stated and that everybody is arguing is that alcohol is more dangerous than weed and that weed will not give you harmful side effects if you do not abuse its use. Not one person has brought up any facts that say otherwise, and I have already provided much documentation supporting my statement.

You claim it's proof, but in our eyes (regardless if we partake or not) do not agree with your assesment. Compairing one evil against another is hardly a means of proving anything and beating a dead dog still leaves you with a dead dog.

I have already provided stats on how there are more car accidents involved with alcohol than there are with weed, and no one could bring up anything that said otherwise. I have also provided material which supports that weed does not provide harmful side effects if not abused. The amount to reach abusive levels is different for everyone as it is with everything else, so I cannot determine that on a person to person level. I can only attest for those I know and myself until they develope some kind of system that defines this (such as blood alcohol content, etc.). I have given reasons to why the stats others have provided do not apply to the case at hand that we are discussing. The only thing those stats prove is that if the use of marajuana is abused, then it will cause harmful side effects. But this is true with any substance, even food. No one has given a reason to why my information and material provided is not accurate in relation to the topic we are discussing.

To Strahd:

Try driving drunk as hell and see how difficult it is. Then try driving stoned. The difference is amazing. You are less apt to be in a car accident when stoned compared to being drunk and driving. The sites I have provided give information on this and support this. There has been no study able to show otherwise.

Also, "less apt than drunk" even if it is true, is still worthless since you're impared. There's no such thing as "less irresponsible."
