Chuck....lost me there....the parents or the students? I know of alot of parents that aren't resposible and it reflects on their kids. I don't think that Mil service changes that all that much either...from my experance in the past 10 yrs. I knew penlty of people who got in over their heads with shit while in the army.
Parents teach by example far more than they teach with words.
When they act like every thing is about they & thier kids "rights" and not about the responsibilities they have to see that the kids grow up right, the kids learn not to be responsible.
It's realy not rocket science.

military 9 month, social work 12 month & nearly unpaid
hmm nearly unpaid is about 500€, thats of course nothing for a full time job, but better than military (~150€?), food clothes and somewhere to sleep for free of course when you do military.
anyway i also did social service (OT: i love the word "Zivildiener" they have in Austria for it ), and even a quite relaxed one at that.
i mostly spend my day shopping for old people or tidying up their household a bit. it was a good experience (i had enough time for a chat with them, and sometimes that was my only job) and it certainly would teach some young people respect of the elders (not that i lacked that before). there was of course the unfriendly grumpy grandpa, but i guess the world can't be without them.

The US Constituion merely defines the basic governmental structure and the basic laws of the land.
Just my thoughts.

Actually the US is a "Constitutionally Limited Republic". The Constitution does more than just codify the structure and basic common law of the land, it limits the powers of the Federal government and gives all powers not explicitly assigned it to the States.

Whatz going on? Greebe, you're so full of shit, you know-nothing hehe I know much more than you and I'm only 16 imagine where I'll be in 20 years but seriously, folks... I love you guys, your silly lol j/k
You know, when I was 16 I thought I knew everything, too.
Sadly, it turns out that I was a VERY unusual 16-year-old. I _did_ know just about everything.
The 16-year-olds on this board, on the other hand, fall squarely into the "don't know shit" category.
Sorry, guys. I just calls 'em like I sees 'em.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
I would still get screwed

Chuck, better not let your Democratic friends see this wise side of you.. you'll be kicked out of the party!

Now, Gurm.. don't generalize. Liquid Snake for one is a pretty good guy. It's not important to know everything at 16.. it's only important to be man enough to admit you don't, so you won't stop trying to learn.

Unfortunately, the federal government takes whatever powers it wants. See the DEA seizures of legal (according to California) marijuana - grown in Cali, given away for free, IN STATE (no interstate anything), and the DEA still comes in and seizes everything.

Here's one. It didnt take me to long to track down once I remembered when I'd made a post referring to the one concerned.
I'm pretty sure theres been a few others but short of going back through 2 years of postings I'm unable to furnish you with any other examples :
I'm sure Kruzin was having a bad day and it was a particularly annoying pillock making all the trouble, but IMO, using "We've been here longer than you" as an argument doesnt wash.
As Kruzin hasnt engaged in this form of status snobbery since(not that I've seen anyway) I thought I'd spare his blushes and PM you rather than post it on the thread.
Rich
Normally I don't post PM's, but after reading this one, what it linked to, what was said and what wasn't felt the need to share.

Umm, well, that link pointed to a topic where Kruzin got upset (quite understandably) about a new user who was digging up solved cases and pretending to be far more knowledgeable than he actually was.
Kruzin wasn't actually being condecending because the offender was a new user, he was condecending because the offender was a wanker!
