  • i wonder if they are going to bring out a mobile version of any new card which may be in the works?
now that woulsd be nice and would also boost revenue too as you would open yourself to a whole new market and it wouldnt be too much work as a only a few design alterations would need to be made.
is a flower best picked in it's prime or greater withered away by time?
Talk about a dream, try to make it real.

    • MGA-chip in a notebook? That'd be great, especially with DVDmax!
      main system: P4 Northwood 2.0 @ 2.5GHz, Asus P4PE (LAN + Audio onboard), 512MB Infineon PC333 CL2.5, Sapphire/BBA Radeon 9500@9700 128MB (hardmodded), IBM 100GB ATA-100, 17" Belinea (crappy), and some other toys...ADSL (1,5mbit/s down, 256kbit/s up...sweeeeeet!)

I think Matrox is going to jump on direction which no one can imagine after all those OpenGL problems wih G400 and G200.

So the Pro 3D/CAD would be the other option?

                  • Would be nice to see a real pro card from matrox. It would make sence with their reputation for visual quality.

                    • A professional card stands for a lot of power. And power is exactly what I need at the moment !

                      • i think they will taget the gaming market, like in the g400 days, i wouldn´t be suprised by a pro 3d card though.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

                        • Well if they were working on a Dual Chip design then it would make sence to develope it further and introduce a pro card, because thats the market that can afford to spend a little money.

                          • or maybe the chip will comfortably do both, but the board will have a few different options for the pro market......

                            • hahahahaha...

Could you imagine if Matrox released a professional CAD/CAM card with 128/256 MB RAM AND was faster than the GeForce 4? Every "hard core" gamer would be shelling out $600-$1000 for the 256 MB version, because it soooo increases their gaming speed. Dolts...

If Matrox truely is aiming the Parhelia at the pro CAD/CAM market, plus hopefully the gamer market, we can be sure of three things (assuming they pull it off):

                              1) It will be fast.

                              2) It will have insanely crisp graphics.

                              3) It will have tons of RAM.

                              • Oh yeah More Rumors....was starting to get boring in here . One thing I think alot of people are missing in here is that say the next Gen Graphics Card from Matrox is a Professional GFX card along the likes of the Quattro and FireGL8800 cards (both based off "Gamers" from Nvidia and ATI) and is faster then them well dont we have a Very good basis for a Fast Gamers Card? I personally think that a new Matrox Pro Card should be about $800 for 128mb and $11-1200 for a 256mb Verison. The only thing is that the "gamers" card has to have at least 64mb of RAM on it and maybe 128MB, but not cost more then say $500 (I'm personally hoping for a card closer to the $300-400 mark) and above all be faster then a GF4 in most areas and still have great Visuals and good drivers. If they say the are coming out with a new Card for $300-400 dollars put me on the list for a new one
