I wonder why matrox decided to reveal the clock-speed.
they have never done that before.

btw, is gamespot a "REAL news site", or just a "rumor site"?
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

For the most part Gamespot is a "real" news website since they are owned by CNet. But like everyone is saying Matrox has NEVER released info about clock speeds on its Cards before....
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

I think the main thing holding them back is heat. Let the overlockers to the rest
        no matrox, no matroxusers.

Lets hope we get an 0.13 micron version very fast!

Some people are still thinking that matrox will release a 0.13 soon... HAHAHa
Hey! You're talking to me all wrong! It's the wrong tone! Do it again...and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron

they probably will, when they can.
i don´t expect it soon though.
if the refresh will be a dx9 part, i don´t know.
i think dx9 compliance will require singnificant changes to the core, and i don´t think a "die-shrink/refresh" will be enough.

TBD, I think more of a complete redesign of the chip
maybe they will release it in about a year or 2

I don't think matrox will release the parhelia now and a few month's later a die shrink with dx9 features on

                    this isn't nvidia

Yeah but for Matrox to come out with a new or new card a year after the P comes out well is soon for them

And you you better compare the bandwith with other cards (like GF4 etc)

its more important than the speed of the chip why

well if you do a fillrate test on GF cards you will see that their real world performance is lower than they should be.

this because the chip is limited by the memory speed

Take for example my card an Elsa GF 3 Ti200
on paper it should have 1400 Mtexels in practice (or realworld)
I only get 1100-1200 thats 15 percent loss.
If I overclock my memory I can easy get the 1350 ,1400 (more but then my card trashes my system too often)

this is where Matrox always have shines, Take a look at the G400 with his SGram , as a result in benchmarks the G400 always had the highest lowest frames ( )

who cares if you can get 200 + fps , more important is how low will it go (again )

Hrm I report the projected clockspeed and I get skepticism and ornery comments. Gamespot reports the same thing , and it's a whole different response . Interesting isn't it
