Then why are you here? Just curious. I mean, people normally visit the forums they are interested in or not? If you REALLY lost all your respect to Matrox, I suppose you would definatly not be here.
If one has experienced the days before the announcement of P chip, he wouldn't be surprised at the situation now.
As for MURC, I think people just play a small game here sometimes which is totally harmless. I would take it easy.
People, I have never stated that Matrox would be making any announcements. I am still preparing what information I have, and when I get the okay by our gracious leader, I will post it up.

Anyway here's for hoping Vigilant might post this tonight

I gotta admit, I was looking at buying a parhelia very soon. But reading everything that's on this board, I've got a feeling that I won't.
I play games rarely, spend most of my time administering servers, photoshoping or web development, and the parhelia seemed perfect. But reading here, it just seems to be a tale of woe, and does little to inspire me to buy one.
Our work is a dedicated Matrox shop, and was looking at purchasing the parhelia for some uses. But I think I'm going to recommend they don't.
Why did you change your mind Doogie? For your uses, it seems like the Parhelia is indeed ideal. People here are mainly disappointed by Matrox's business strategies (or rather lack of).
It doesn't change the Parhelia's features and quality.
If I'm going to have to fork out the $900 odd dollars local currency (about $400 odd us) for it, then I want a product that I can get drivers for in 2 years time.
I want a product I can get replacement for if I need to, and I want a part that I can get support on should we need it. We often have problems in our environment (TV production) and we need support from the vendor.
I'd actually like to see a comparison of the 9700 against the Parhelia for quality. That's what I'm primarily after. That and two monitors.

Matrox is not going under any time soon in that manner. They are struggling with some issues as I have pointed out, but their track record has been good as far as supporting their products with drivers and end user support. I would go so far as to say that they have the best support of any of the companies.

Very true! you can browse Matrox's technical support forums for a proof, you'll find the moderators (Haig, Saad, Louie, and the others) extremely attentive and helpful to everyone. Drivers roll out fast and bugs are fixed very quickly.
If I were you, I wouldn't spend my money on a 9700 if you're not going to play games. Parhelia recently won quite a few DisplayMate awards for perfect 2D image quality.
