I don't know if this is off base, but from a practical viewpoint,Matrox putting the 128 out first makes sense.
As we've seen 2 other Parhelias are meant to be released, the 256 and the 64.
The 64meg is for folks like me who wants the best he can afford, stiil using a 17"monitor(thank's Greebe ).
As we know a card seems to improve with maturity of drivers, could it be the 128meg, is Matrox putting it's best foot forward?
The 256meg would limit users to a few and the 64 meg may not have optimum performance, but could drastically improve with better drivers, hence the release of the 128meg,as the drivers improve for it,the drivers for the 64 meg could be released with a bit of maturity.
As far as the .13 micron,I'm sure it's something that may appear down the road, but as stated Matrox wants the product out now,so that line of reasoning makes sense.
I'm currently using a Kyro II,as I was impressed by it's design and innovative approach, also refused to buy a Nvidia,so it posed a nice option.
It runs games faster than my G400 and that's why I changed.
What's sorely missed is the clarity in 2d applications that Matrox has.
As far as new cards from Nvidia,so what else is new?
I've seen more problems with their cards than any other, drivers, incompatability,no initial post, scared me off!
What good is 300fps if you can't get it to post!
Bragging rights?
This is one Murcer waiting with baited breath for the end results.(as I'm sure most others are, too!)
