'Fusion' cards

my guess is that these cards are the new 'Marvels'. Maybe they have integrated a completely new feature with a lot of functionality, justifying a name-change.

Since there are no G450 Marvel and G800 Marvel entries in the PDTools.dll file, I am sure the Marvel will be called Fusion

I am wondering if the G800 will still be based on the G200 core, or redesigned from the ground up. Matrox has stated it is pin-compatible with the G450. Does that mean it will use the same memory as the G450? and are there enough reserved pins on the G450, so that the memory bandwith will double with the G800?

I don't think so ...

Matrox already announced that they will not discontinue the Marvel G400 and we already heard about a G450 eTV.

I think (don't know though) that this eTV could be covering video stuff and a label like Fusion looks more like a fusion of two chips to me, i.e. two G450s or G800s on one board. Just guessing though.

No clue about your other question ...

I think I know the real purpose of generating some of those G800 rumours... People start speculating, and M hopes they can pick up some good ideas from it! (actually, I think my socket-idea wasn't that bad after all )

Well I spoke to the Matrox PR guy the other day after complaining to him that other sites get told about future products and mention the fact and yet whenever I ask I get a reply longer than War and Peace telling me how Matrox couldn't possibly talk to anyone about future products even though I know they do. It seems if you go along to something like E3 Matrox will tell any old Tom, Dick or Harry about their new technologies but will ask them nicely to keep quiet. However if you go through the official PR channels as I have to do not being a US bloke and not being able to attend these big shows then the door is slammed in your face and you get told nothing. Luckily though Tom and Dick always tell me what's been said, Harry though never says a word.

What we need is our British intelligence service to have a deal with Matrox. Matrox supplies information on what the new hardware is. This then gets put on a laptop and gets left in a back of taxi. The taxi driver knows Ant and sends him the laptop. Ant being law abiding sends it back to the police after posting all the info about about the new card to this forum.

Yes TP, that's it. Ant is too well known at Matrox to ask these questions, so we need to let someone else ask these question, a non-descript person who never posted his/her picture anywhere on his/her homepage or these forums... Can't you do it?
