  • As part of their new line of video cards we have to write the drivers ourselves as well as assemble the card.

    • I'm not under any NDA, Matrox won't give me any info but my Far East contacts have
Now hold on here Ant. If you're not under an NDA, then there are one of two possibilities here.
      a) Your Far East contacts have in fact told you something and there is some reason that you aren't telling the rest of us what that is, or
      b) Your refraining from saying anything because you don't actually know anything and you just like watching the antics that we put on in this forum.
Now, if it's A, then I'm curious as to why you won't tell us anything.
If it's B, then I don't blame you in the least, I find this all to be rather amusing myself.

There is actually a third option however. It's somewhat of a mix of the 2 above. That is, that you do in fact know something, and you aren't telling us because you find our wild and totally aimless speculation amusing(which again, I would have to agree there ).

Whatever option it is, I'm as much as a rumor monger as anyone else is here, just not quite as vocal.

So, instead of asking yet another question about the specs of the G800 , I'd like to know if you or the BBz do in fact know anything about the Matrox's next gen card beyond the muddy array of rumors that we've already heard?
(heh somehow I doubt that I'm going to get answer to this, but hey, it's worth a try).

Further more, there is evidence to support my theories, you and the BBz have implied several times that you don't neccesarily know anything, no one has had the sense to come straight out and ask you though. So, I'm asking.

      • Matrox really don't like their info getting leaked at all - I think if Ant was to post nextgen specs he'd be in trouble and most likely asked to remove them.

        • I presume the BBz know but they are under NDA so I can't ask them if what I know is the same as what they know but I'm sure what I know is the same as what they know so what we all know is the same I presume. Now if what I know is true which I presume it is then it is rather cool I think at least but it's not whast anyt of you have thought or at least I think now I'll have to go back and reread this thread. Until I can confirm what I know is true then I won't blurt unless some other site finds out first then I will as that is what I usually do, but getting confiramtion is the problems as those under NDA that know can't tell me and I wouldn't even bother asking them anyway as I don't think that's fair on them, and the powers at be at Matrox won't talk. Of course I'm also not saying to make Matrox sweat and perhaps blackmail them into talking to me about future products as they do other editors but won't any longer to me for some reason unkown to me. It's also a bit of fun and mother knows I'm bored so it brightens up my day

          • LOL

... sorry for bursting that bubble, but I don't know anything about those fusions !

I just found it sort of funny to pour some fuel into the fire and to see what ideas might come up ...

On one hand I wished I had some info on those cards, but on the other hand it would be a real pain not being able to share that knowledge and hence it might be better to rest it like it is, i.e. no infos about upcoming products outside of Matrox's holy halls (presuming that inside their halls that kind of information is available ).

Btw, I don't really care what exact specs those upcoming cards will have, because I know they will be superior to my beloved G400 and should be capable to handle everything I throw at them better and most likely faster than the G400 does already.
(well to be honest at least I hope so ... )

            Cheers,
            Maggi[BB]

PS: I just received that before mentioned bundle for self-assembling, but it's not a G800 ... it's the G1600 LEGO that Barbarella noted us about ...

                • How about this. All you NDA people just tell us when your NDA expires. I'm content with what I know about the G800 (all versions) and what I know is that it will kick ass just like the G400 Max did. I just don't know when...and that's killing me

Say the emphasised words fast, and what does one come up with? It was about the only sentence in the ramble on the other page that made a little sense, yet made no sense at all in the context

                      • LOL Dang Ant! I should have expected a response like that!

Ok, lets see if I've got this straight, you know that what they know is the same as what you know but you don't know if they know if what they know is the same as what you know... or something.

Anywhoooo... Heh, I don't think I'll ask anything else, I'll just confuse myself more if I do.

Pace, I wasn't exactly asking for specs or anything anyway, I just wanted to know if we were chasing phantoms or if Ant actually knew something, LOL, and I'm not entirely sure I actually got an answer to that! I suppose Ant must have said something that supplied confirmation of something one way or another, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what it was.

Ian, who is mildly beffudled(to put it litely)

PS. Ant, what is with this 8 image per post limit? And why does that 8 seem to include the "Message Icon"?

                        • I've no idea there never used to be a limit on the number of images, I'll dig around the control panel and see what I can find.

                          • Yea - you've been around here long enough Ian to already know what I said - it's the other little ones might start asking for info again (and hence waste their time and mine reading!). Hmm, am I sounding elitest? I hope so, er...., I mean, oops! I hope not!

Hehe, and Finberg NDAs will no doubt include that you can't even say when it expires.

The 8 image limit has been mentioned in the site feedback forum - I'm sure it never used to be here.

Dunno if anybody here reads the Seti forum but if you do then maybe it's and that turned us into the backwards people with all that bewildering talk!

                            Paul.

PS: Hope this ain't a double post! I've been having problems viewing the last post I make.

Edit: Hmm, I tried to delete a post and was 'not authorized' - so I just edited it down to something short = same answer! So I thought I'll post a new post saying this. Couldn't see my post and then I tried to delete one of these 3 again and it worked - deleting 2 at the same time! So, sometimes I can't see my last post, sometimes I can't post and sometimes I can't make changes.
                            Any ideas?
