i wonder if the matrox engineers have parhelias at home. for testing and stuff. wait in front of the building till some matrox engineer leaves and follow him to his home. i bet it is a lot easier to get in there (than in the the R&D) and walk out with one parhelia

I would be abashed if Matrox ever let those cards leave the lab.Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

ok if the parhelia will be out before UT2003 comes out then matrox should better annouce sth. official soon! mark rein from epic said that they hope to have it out in june, possibly end of june. unless matrox will present boxed and shelf-ready parhelias soon i dont know how they want to do it. they did not even announce chip specs or anything.
i bet the guys at epic would also like to test UT2003 on some parhelias and maybe even optimize the code here and there or at least check some compability issues with the drivers or sth. (and matrox should also be very interested that this happens). maybe they already got some sample parhelias, who knows.
i don't the only thing i knew is that when the parhelia comes out before UT2003 i am going to buy it, no matter what they want for it. i am gonna replace my g400 non-MAX when UT2003 comes out (and i will probably not be the only one), so if i was matrox i would really make sure it is coming out before UT2003, unless (and there were some hints in that direction) the parhelia will be completely targeted at graphics workstations and not for gamers at all.
I CANNOT WAIT.no matrox, no matroxusers.

I can only imagine what kind of ungodly 3dmark i could pull out the card in 3d mark 2001 with the high end version of parhelia...
It would make the nvidia boys run for cover,that's for sure as they would never hear the end of it.......note to self...

Sounds very good !!!
UT 2003 Demo in mid/end may and the Game in end June !!
If what Mark Rein said in those UT 2003 movies, are on target then M better get a move on !!
Mark Rein started by saying .. when it's ready, but soon ( get it ) after said specific months.
( I know I know .. he also said that if it wasn't ready then it wouldn't come out ....)
Here is a thought ..... Maybe P will come bundled with UT 2003 !!!!Fear, Makes Wise Men Foolish !

Good luck on overclocking the Ti4400. I have a Ti4600 that runs at 735 with no problems (at 745 visual artifacts are apparent). 3DMark2001se stays about the same (11,500 with P4 at 2.3) from 700 to 735. No surprise since the per cent increase is probably below the variability in the benchmark.

If the card is almost ready for prime time,it wouldn't surprise me much that some developers already have at least evaluation samples with them for their own feedback regarding any driver issues and how the overall performance is....note to self...

If Parhelia is a DX9 card it makes no sense to release it so early, or they´ll risc a Radeon 1 fiasco (future DX8 support, remember? Then Microsoft pull out the carpet on them and only supported Pixel shader 1.0)
DX9 is due early next year. So...
If it´s a DX8.1 card, they are taking too much time releasing it to have a useful lifespan.
So I guess we´ll see MMC presented on Q4 2002 and shipping Q1 2003.

If the MMC comes out too late, there won't be anyone left to buy it.
A lot of people are already waiting to purchase a new card.
Some may wait, but a lot won't.
Matrow won't want to sell their card to just Hardcore Matrox fans, i suppose they want to sell it to the world.
Then again, they may feel quite happy selling it to the oem's and making sure money that way.
Nvidia has 6-9 month production cycles. OK, so their cards don't last long on the market, but they do have a noticeable gain in speed.
If and when Matrox release a card ( or specs), then Nvidia and ATi will be just behind "we'll have a card twice as powerful in 9 months..." - or less.
With Matrox, its like "We'll have a card ready sometime soon...maybe." followed by "..and no-one ever said that"
Its as if they are not sure whether they are going to tell the consumers about their new product.
I am rambling on so i'll stop there.
I WILL be waiting......PC-1 Fractal Design Arc Mini R2, 3800X, Asus B450M-PRO mATX, 2x8GB B-die@3800C16, AMD Vega64, Seasonic 850W Gold, Black Ice Nemesis/Laing DDC/EKWB 240 Loop (VRM>CPU>GPU), Noctua Fans.
Nas : i3/itx/2x4GB/8x4TB BTRFS/Raid6 (7 + Hotspare) Xpenology
+++ : FSP Nano 800VA (Pi's+switch) + 1600VA (PC-1+Nas)

Nuno;
Did you ever think that they could release it with Dx8 features enabled at first and then they could add Dx9 support in the drivers when it's released?
That happens a LOT.
