At this time, I would like to change my three wishes in the soap box. Infact I may even give up the bottle of Rum as a wish to get this beast.

I can imagine that a card like this would justify Haig's earlier hints very well.

Anyone wants to buy my slightly used Matrox Mystique 220?
It's only been used for 6 years

the site where i am most often, and got the reply from is http://forums.overclockers.co.uk , there are some very knowledgeable people there, but it is going under a bit of trouble of the moment because of a small proportion of trolls flaming each other, however they are just about to be rooted out. check it out if you like

I'm afraid that is the problem with forums, they attract Trolls. You either try and have to live with them or get tough and not tolerate them as the MURC has always done. We are never completely troll free but they never get very far causing trouble with all the MUC Rottweillers we have constantly on patrol.

I can feel the heat of this summer, even if it's still quite cold here (early spring). A 2GHz machine+Parhelia+Warcraft 3+Anno 1503+some gun powder...

My curiosity is well and truely piqued now. A new fast Matrox card that will only cost me as much as the new stainless steel exhaust I've been saving for!

Just thinking, the G400 was released when CPUs were hitting the 500-600 mark, and scaled up in performance to around the 1ghz mark.

So the new UberCard is being released with CPU clocks closing on 2ghz. I wonder if it will scale up in performace with CPU speed the same way?

Make an announcement soon please, Matrox!

I've all but decided to buy a Gainward GF4 Ti4600 750/Golden Sample. But, since I can't do that for nearly another month, if Matrox announces this card before I buy, I may stuff the money I had lined up for the GF into a nook/cranny around the house (so the wife can't get me to spend it elsewhere), and get the Matrox card.

If this card is anything nearly as good as Vigilant's sources lead us to believe, I'll be using Matrox in my gaming rig again. Woohoo!!
                    "..so much for subtlety.."

                    System specs:
                    Gainward Ti4600
                    AMD Athlon XP2100+ (o.c. to 1845MHz)

Oh not it's all false, Reactorcritical say so, this is funny...

"In fact, we do not believe that everything mentioned above is true. Firstly, because of the fact that DirectX 9 is not due in April or May. Secondly, if Matrox had the GPU taped-out, it would have contacted the graphics boards manufacturers, causing leaks. Although they really had contacted several, we have not heard of Parhelia that was going to be launched in the first half of 2001. Thirdly, Matrox Graphics is not going to take part in CeBIT, one of the reasons is because they are moving to the niche market of 2D graphics professionals and they do not need to attend any events in order to sell the certain number of boards. "

Why didn't I think of that, none of the graphics board manufacturers have been contacted!

I posted some time ago at Muropaketti a long list of misleading things in that RC (also known as BS Critical) article.

there is much more than that wrong.

for example, no one said that Parhelia was coming H1/2001. and they said that it didn't come. Of course it didn't come because it has been planned to H2/2002 even in the rumours as long as I can remember.

Look they're not saying which year just next month or the month after that. So it could April 2003 or May 2003 or 04 or 05. If they don't go bust they will release something one day.

Oh gawd, I'm embarrassed for Reactor Critical.. I would have left them a comment (or two) if there would have been a suitable thread in their forum.
