featuring a 350Mhz core and 400Mhz memory clock manufactured on a 0.15 micron process.
    hmm! I donĀ“t think so.
This sig is a shameless atempt to make my post look bigger.

well, they canĀ“t reach anything NEAR 300mhz if it doesnĀ“t.

That's not true at all. 300MHz is more than possible on 150nm

Well, it depends on the complexity of the chipset.
            System Specs:
            Gigabyte 8INXP - Pentium 4 2.8@3.4 - 1GB Corsair 3200 XMS - Enermax 550W PSU - 2 80GB WDs 8MB cache in RAID 0 array - 36GB Seagate 15.3K SCSI boot drive - ATI AIW 9700 - M-Audio Revolution - 16x Pioneer DVD slot load - Lite-On 48x24x48x CD-RW - Logitech MX700 - Koolance PC2-601BW case - Cambridge MegaWorks 550s - Mitsubishi 2070SB 22" CRT

            Our Father, who 0wnz heaven, j00 r0ck!
May all 0ur base someday be belong to you!
Give us this day our warez, mp3z, and pr0n through a phat pipe.
And cut us some slack when we act like n00b lamerz,
just as we teach n00bz when they act lame on us.

I am of course asuming we are talking about a full dx9 compliant chip.

I just renembered: i donĀ“t know what the h*ll im talking about, as i am not an EE, so the above statement is only a guess.

So am I. There's no reason they couldn't pull it off, except for lack of skill on their part.

but wouldnĀ“t dx9 compliance require ALOT of transistors?
more transistors than parhelia? and matrox seems to release parhelia with 220mhz.
thats why i doubt those specs, of course they could do something weird, like splitting it up in 2 lesser chips with half the transitor count or something.
but at a first glance those specs looks way off.

Maybe if they connect both chips with a 256 Bit bus or use a 3th chip (a memory controller) to connect both chips with the memory
all connections 256 bit or more

but that would proberly impossible too because the you need more layers on your board , and the maximum possible at the moment is 7 layers
Hey! You're talking to me all wrong! It's the wrong tone! Do it again...and I'll stab you in the face with a soldering iron

I have seen many boards with 8 or more layers.

Before you spell something out, be shure you're atleast half correct.

And someone in #murc told me that so

                            but now I remember something

                            GF3 Ti500 are 8 layers boards, doh

then we need proberly more than 8 layers, then

                              I've seen plenty of 10 & 12 layer jobs.
